How do AARP Prescription Discounts work?
What are AARP Prescription Discounts?
Now available to all, AARP Prescription Discounts provided by OptumRx can save you money at the pharmacy. AARP members save even more. With the Rx discount card, you could get a better price on prescriptions than what your insurance offers.
Save on FDA-approved medications.
There is no limit to how often you can use your Rx discount card, and you can use it on any FDA-approved medications. This includes brand name, generic, and over-the-counter medications when prescribed by a physician.
AARP members receive even deeper discounts.
Prescription medication coverage can change each year. AARP Prescription Discounts allow users to find affordable options when it comes to filling their medications. Insurance is NOT required. If you do have insurance, when you buy your prescriptions, use either insurance OR the Rx discount card. Compare and then use the option that provides the best price.
What are the benefits?
AARP members save even more when you order a 30-day or 90-day supply that is delivered right to your front door. Become an AARP member to take advantage of this benefit.
Easy and FREE Rx management.
In a few easy steps, AARP members can create an online account and get access to helpful tools, like setting medication reminders, giving caregiver access, checking home delivery order status, and more.
"My insurance company would not give me a discounted price and if I had jumped all the hurdles to get it approved, it would have cost me a far greater price than buying it without insurance. [This card] gave me a break."
