Tularemia is an infection that happens in rabbits and rodents. Pets, especially cats, can also be infected. People become infected when they come in contact with the infected animals or with ticks, deer flies, or mosquitoes who are infected. This illness can affect your skin, eyes, lymph nodes, or lungs.
